(+10 REP) Windows Live Crashing Me!

Hey guys.

Well basically Windows Live Messenger has the Sharing Folder feature thing. A few weeks ago it tried to make some sort of sharing folder thing with me and a contact. However, as soon as it happened my PC crashed.

Since then, I can come on my computer fine but as soon as this guy signs into msn the folder thing starts up and it crashes my computer.

It's really annoying me that just because someone who I want to speak to comes online my computer crashes!

Apparently its a windows live bug, and I have searched around on google and it seems to be a bit of a common problem - but I can't find a solution.

I will give +10rep to all who post constructive posts that somehow help me. Please do not post silly things that anyone could work out though such as "take it to a computer shop" or "re install windows live".

Could be something to do with alerts, I'm not sure.

Go to tools > options, then click alerts and uncheck "Display alerts when a sharing folder is updated". If that doesn't work:

Tools > Options > Sharing Folders > Click his name and click remove.

Have you tryd deleting the sharing folder that you created?
