Default I'm certain this is illegal...

Right, I'm going to cut this short because it's a long story.

Anyway, me and some friends were driving around the neighborhood 2 days ago, and my friend saw this kid who she knew, so she squirted him with a water gun which didn't hit him. Anyway, he got really pissed off and she got out of the car and he hit her, so we all obviously got out too. He then said he was going to "**** us all up" so we just drove off.

Anyway, about a half hour later he found out where we were, he got out of his car, got out a gun and came up to us and started rambling.

So we called the cops after he left because we thought it would be the logical thing to do, I don't know if the cop didn't get the magnitude of it, or my state's laws are backward, but basically he said it's "ok to carry a gun in that manner".

I know (I don't know if there's an age limit, but this guy was 18 anyway) it's alright to carry a gun so long that it's not concealed without a license. But this guy was obviously using this gun to scare us, I'm sure he wouldn't of used (although he did **** it) it but he was definitely not kidding around, I don't personally know him, I don't know what he might of done.

He was using this gun in a threatening manner, so I'm certain it's illegal.
    What do you think?

(They never found the gun, so they couldn't prove anything... so they got away with everything)

I'm sure in any country in the world if you are "threatened" with a gun then it's illegal, it certainly isn't okay to be threatened with violence anywhere (unless you're in zimbabwe, then it's fine).

He didn't actually verbally threaten us, or take any specific aim although he did come up very close to me.

But yeah... you're right, in my opinion he was still very threatening toward us, why else would he get out of car with a gun?
Especially after what he said earlier to us.

I didn't ever expect this to happen to me lmao, my neighborhood is nice and we didn't really do anything too horrific toward him.

Judging by your version of events i'd certainly say it's illegal, if you felt threatened, then it clearly was

I did not think it was illegal in the USA to carry a gun only if it does not have a liscence and if you use it.

As it's legal to carry a gun where you are, convicting somone for threataning another person with one becomes more complicated compaired to the UK where you would have a group of CO19 officiers charging you down within 15 minutes.

If the police had have caught him with the gun and had different witness to say he threatend you with it then yes he would most likely be arrested.
But as they can't prove he had one it changes it. But the fact is what he did was illegal.

It's not really "illegal" as maybe he was just taking hes gun out for a walk.
    That's my opinion.
