It's basically editting the images and changing the colour of the text, I have kinda learned where each text goes and what colour goes where.

What I do is have 2 sets.

1 which is the layout I am editting and the other the end product. Firstly, start work on the one you wish to edit into your custom skin, make images such as maintitle (which is what I name the bit which has the catagory name on and other images like the usercp, pformstrip and darkstrip. Then find where they are in the skin (normally found in areas like .maintitle, .darkrow etc but some images maybe hidden.

Once you have made the images inser them in the skin by adding the full url of the custom images and removing the old ones.

Mainly it is changing the text colour which is the difficult bit. Basically have toi copies and if something goes wrong, add the new one.
