Basically, my laptop overheats so easily. And, i think i have got loads of viruses on it.
but whenever I run AVG to find and delete them, my PC overheats, before the scan even finishes.
Any ideas?

Moss: Yes you do; you've just used a double negative
Is it a dell laptop?
My Dell used to overheat and I did some looking and I found a programme that lets you change the fan speeds and have preset speeds for different temperatures etc, so your computer wwill never overheat.

I have an acer, and my fan is on the right side
Stack dvd cases up on each side so its level and let the fan drain away its heat that way, then run your AVG to make sure =]
