Stupid Idea Results In Injury

Well i was using a basic pipe cutter on a cO2 cartridge (The one thats 2 - 3 inches tall) which ive done before. But this time, it "shot" into my hand (Not really "into" but yeah) so now i have a couple of bruises and im not sure what else. But i was wondering how can i check what else mightve happened without having to consult a doctor or ask anybody i know?
