Illegal Activities?

OK now I have your attention...

There has been a lot of mud-slinging lately, that I for one, am not happy with, so I shall put this to you. HOW do you tell when forum software (IBP/vB/whatever) is in fact an illegal copy? Can't you change keys or text?

DO NOT MENTION NAMES OR ACCUSE IN THIS THREAD, just tell me/everyone else how you find out if someone else has a legal copy or not.

It will help with moderating this forum, so thank you for as much help as possible! (feel free to PM me with any sensitive information on this subject)

To find out if they have a illegal vB, add /clientscript/vbeditor.js


Ive done this on habbox and it says that have v.3.0.6 and no license?

right for vbuletin up put
clientscript/vbuletin_editor.js or other files

To tell if its legal sometimes at the top it will say the hacking group name also at the bottom it says when it was downloaded
Habbox say 3.0.6 cus they update there forum the same way i used to thats y it says that

With ipb u add
?ipsreport=1
to the end and if it says there licence its legal but if it dont it cud say a scripting group name

Yea the securty fetures like that are only for boareds that cost to get, if they were free it would be a bit pointless

zanex pointed out the best wasy to find out, athogh on vb you can use any of the javascript files to check

Also with vb if u log in to members area u can tick the box which adds ur site to the links database so people can view it and if everyone did that then it would stop all this accusing
