    can anyone tell me:

    a) is the virgin media supplied cable modem a router

    and

    b) does it support more than 1 connection at a time?

    by more than one conenction do you mean with wireless?
    I can't help with the router as we joined years ago (when it was telewest)

    No. The cable modem only has one ethernet port.

    Our Router broke, so we bought the belkin n+ nimo or mimo. Its the only belkin one that works on virgin i belive. It also has more ethernet ports at the back. I think any n+ would work tbh

    They were giving out free wireless routers with every modem when we got connected, im not sure id thats true too

    Its a modem, and it only has one ethernet port so you'd have to get a router.

    About the router, quite alot work with virgin now, ive got a Belkin one now which works and before that i had a Netgear and Linksys.

    Linksys was the best imo, Wireless connection signal was the best of all my routers.
