Default The Lost Boys: The Tribe

One of the most anticipated sequels in history is The Lost Boys 2, scripts have been flying around for 20 years, such as The Lost Girls eusa_wall), but ever since Warner Bros. Premiere, the company's straight-to-DVD wing, announced The Tribe, a flurry of anticipation was felt worldwide. Now, it's finally here, as of today it is released in the USA, but I believe it is going to be packaged with the original only in the UK from September.

A friend of mine who is an employee of Warner Bros., and was running the booth at Comic Con 2008, in California a few days ago sent me a copy a couple of weeks ago, and received it the other day.

Anyway, I have seen it, and I can say that I am happy with it. It is in a completely different league to that of the absolutely classic original, but I liked it. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman return which is great, and special effects legend Tom Savini is in it, which is also a positive. The story was so-so, but you could see that there really was a great deal of effort put into the film, it was by no means rushed, and it was trying as hard as it could to be a respected sequel with the same feel as the first. I believe they pulled that off, although the updated sountrack is questionable, and they could have had a lot more shots exploring the town and giving it more of an identity like the original.

The gore effects are fantastic, and I'm sure Tom Savini helped out. No lame CGI, just pure practicality producing some great blood and guts.

I liked it, 6/10, and I hope it is greatly supported, which I feel it will be, as I would love another sequel made by and with the same guys, but doing everything they can to correct the flaws of The Tribe, whilst still saying true to the themes of the first film.

Yeah, I've been eager to see it since I heard about it a while back.
Good to see it's not just some crap sequel.

I'll import it from the USA probably.

Should release it over here on its own rather than packaged with the original. Should do both.

Woo! I love The Lost Boys, the first one. I'm sure this one will be great too!
No more dreaming of the dead as the death itself was undone
No more crawling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so long
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so long
Dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world.

Another 10 year old in our midst. A burden.
