since get new parts for my computer, i have made a computer (out of the spares) and was going to make a server. can enyone tell me how?

quite simple, get the pc an intenet connection, head over to apchis website. download apachi for the o/s the pc is useing.
Install it, config it, id then suggsed adding php, and mysql.
But you more aless have a server, the files that show are in the htdocs.
I installed one on my own pc, to test scripts on, athogh keep in mine, windows and unix operstiong evirmones mean scripts may be run differntly "/
Im on 4MB connection and its still not fast enough to run a server and use the internet at the same time. You need at least a 10 MB connection to run the server at a decent speed.Originally Posted by crana.c

my internet is 256k as in australia 4mb haven't been released
Most are connected via '100Mbs/10" or something :s !
Sweaden have 10 Mb ;O Pitty im in UK.
Occasionally visit and have a nose.
