Girl, 12, survives 14-storey fall
A 12-year-old girl in the US survived a 14-storey fall down a chimney in a New York apartment block after landing on a pile of soot at the bottom.
Grace Bergere had taken a visiting cousin up to the roof to admire the view over the Hudson River and climbed a 25ft ladder alongside a large chimney before falling inside.
Firefighters called to the scene expected to find a dead body in the boiler room at the bottom, but instead found her alive and covered in soot. Grace is being treated in hospital for a suspected dislocated hip.
