Type in *#10# on your phone and it will give you a message with your credit.

    It's a not a setting, it's more of a incredibly-annoying-must-see message.

I am with O2 PAYG, and I'm on the Text Anytime tariff, which gives me 300 free texts a month when I top up ten pounds. I don't make many calls, but when I do I always want to know my credit after them, instead I get a 'Use your phone or more than three minutes today and call rates drop!', but when I send a text (which doesn't affect my credit), it tells me my credit! If I don't press ok as soon as it comes up, my phone stalls until I press OK. Sometimes it'll be the next day until I've realised, I'll press OK and get about 6 text messages.

I went to the O2 shop to disable it, but you can't, it's hardwired into the sim.
    That went fast.
