I had to have my cat put down, it was heartbreaking, and I can't imagine my dog being taken away from me. It's a hard time, but there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to get on with your life and remember the good times you had with him/her. I'm sure you're dog will be fine once it's settled with his/hers new owners.
