Default How can i help my friend?

Well basically, he just came over to my house asking if i could print something for him, so im like yeah sure. It was english coursework. I had a lil read and omg i was like wut. it's bad. Like really bad. its about a page of size 16 writing and theres about 2 full stops in there. Its got hardly an punctuation and basically its bad. I showed my mum + sis and they pretty much had the same reaction.

I was thinking of like tutoring him, but itd be a bit weird coming from someone who is his friend and the same age as him. My sis was like she would, but then shes goin back to uni and my mum hasnt done GCSE and work and crap in ages. So i really dont know how to help him really, he cant get through GCSE writing like an infant. His mum has a condition and can't write, his dad is a psycho and his step-dad is foreign. So its a real toughy.

    helpz

Firstly they are lucky to have a friend like you. Surely the school are aware that he needs help, maybe he is already getting it and still struggling? If he isn't getting help, then now is your chance to try and do something about it, but I would seek professional support, maybe then you could get involved in helping him or even helping him as a mentor?

I know it will be difficult but try to find a diplomatic way of asking him, without embarassing him.

Maybe he's dyslexic like myself. My work at school was crap until I was allowed to use a lap top for exams and things. Personally I'd just leave it because you might just embarass him.

Ty to the first bit. And hes going to a pretty crap (rough) school, which isnt really helping him as far as i know. If they were then he surely wouldn't be confident in handing in coursework like that :S.

And i would mentor him, but emberassing him and the awkwardness would just be ugh -_-

Thats what im afraid of, and i think his mum has dysleyxia so he might have inherited it (if you can).

Couldn't you have a private word with his english tutor? He may be more grateful than embarassed. He isn't going to improve without help and support.

Well i couldnt really, i dont go to his school and i obviously know none of his teachers, i spose i could get my mum to ask his mum to do it, but then how would my mum have known without me letting her read some work she wasnt meant to. He lives 2 doors away from me btw, thats how i know him.

You could always suggest to him that if he ever needs a hand with english homework, and this is providing you have the time, that he can call on you for help
