Job Application

Basically guys, I'm filling a job application for a clothes shop and one of the questions on the application is: "Why do you want to work for us?"

I want to work for them for the staff discount, money and the fact I need a job, but if I put that it wont get me a job :p

So can anybody give me some ideas of what to put?

you could mention that you love their style of clothing.

Just say that you like the clothes they sell in the store as it's your type of clothing but if it isn't your type just say you like the clothing. And say something like, you enjoy shopping there and would like to be part of the team because from what you've seen it seems like a good job with friendly members?

Or something, I always messed up on that part of the job interview.

You think it would be a good way to step onto the career ladder as you are interested in a retail career.

First be sincere - Why do you want to work for first? Include all the reasons. For example, I enjoy the community, working hard, meeting people, servicing customers/clients, etc. State things like "I have always wanted to be a shop worker...."

• Regular customer who buys from there

Anyway that's all I can think of atm. By the way, you'll probably find that you will have much more luck printing off application forms as opposed to CVs. Now is the best time to get a job with all the christmas temp opportunities. (you'll probably get asked to stay on anyway)

Basically suck up to them and say they are great and it would be a great opportunity for you and that you are very much interested in this field and wish to pursue a career in fashion.
