Are Rappers Really Gangstas?

Listening to rappers saying they bang for life, and hang with bloods and crips, and Bloods and Crips will be rapping together.
Are all rappers gangsters or only some, or none of them are?

I'd say some are.
A lot of the more old school rappers have really been through some serious stuff and they mean what they say on records.. but I'm pretty sure a lot of the new school people are little *******, lol. I'm sure they've been through some "struggle" but I'm also sure that they would hesitate to pull a gun on someone and rob them. They most likely see that it sells to be "gangsta" and go with it for the money. Smart business decision I suppose.

A lot of them have been gangsters in their younger life, had to do gang runs and stuff to build up money and all that. Jay-Z, Nas, Snoop, DMX, they were all gang kids and Snoop still gets involved from time to time (hence getting arrested a fair amount). One member of Bone Thugs N Harmony is currently serving a life sentence for murder... but I think the majority would perhaps have been small-time thieves and nothing more
