Damn! i just watched it and its really shows the dark side of war. Really good film definatly worth watching.

Great film, but I suggest you also watch Letters From Iwo Jima. Same story, same director, same year of release, but it tells the Japanese side of the story instead of the American's. It's much better than Flags of Our Fathers. Both films are meant to be watched as 'companion's', you shouldn't just watch one and leave it at that.
