    Default Layout help

    I need a bit of help for a layout I'm creating. I used to be able to make a seperator (which I can still do) however I used to be able to make a selection round it - then choose an option - and then press DEL, and bit by bit - the selected area would slowly disappear. Unfortunately that has completely shot my mind.

    It wasn't a gradient I was using to do it; and its photoshop CS2.

    All help appreciated.
