Default How long until a post becomes a 'bump'?

Just wondering if there's any official time period when you're classified as bumping a topic instead of posting?

If you understand what I'm trying to say

B10. Do not bump threads - It is not allowed to bump up a thread. Simply wait for someone to reply instead. If the thread is old, make a new thread instead. You can reply to an inactive thread as long as the last post was made less than or exactly 10 days ago.

    That make sense?

I think it should be conditional.... if its a pointless bump then fair doos but if its valid to the thread and would prevent a second being made then it should be fine.

    Thats what I think anyway.

I really think it should be based on the clarity of the post.. and the purpose.

If it is a post saying "LOL" from a thread back in 2006, that's stupid and pointless.

But if it is for something say.. a news report.. from a month or two ago.. posting an update on it would be better then making a whole new thread for the same thing.

Agreed, could be looked in to.

Even if a bump is 6 months on if the post is still valid then I would hope it would be left to run Its not that long ago mods might have been pulled up for not closing a thread bumped after 10 days but I think there has been some common sense allowed recently which is very good for the running of the forum and the moderation team :eusa_clap :8

If it's over 10 days old just PM a super mod and get permission before bumping it.

I think it should be unlimited too, no bumping always seemed like a really silly rule.
