Scheduled database backups

Hello

After a discussion with Guy about this, he recommended i asked you guys this.

BASICALLY i have a vBulletin forum with a mysql backup script. Every day at a certain time it will run and save the output in a non public folder.





The thing is, i keep forgetting to download this, so i was wondering is there either any:

• Automated FTP backup programs
• Advanced email/ftp scripts
• or other

I can use to automate the process?

I do not have a problem with backing up the website files as these rarely change, but the database is very important.

He basically wants a bit of PHP that will connect to the database, made a backup of it to an SQL file or something, and have the PHP send it to him attached in an email. The PHP script can be run once a day by a cron job or something. It's very simple, if anyone wants to spare a minute and code it for him
