Default I doubt this is possible, but..

Is it possible to have an iframe or div that follows you even when you visit websites using the browser's address bar?

My mate wants to make a site that you can log in anywhere and get bookmarks in a bar in the browser window. Obviously you can't need to install a plugin or anything. I was just wondering, if it isn't, I'll just put in it's own address bar. He wants it as simple as possible, so two address bars wouldn't really help.

Impossible or there would be loads of sites that it'd be impossible to navigate from.

If it was possible, I'm sure advitsing companys would of paid some geek a lot to code the script for them.

You can't code a webpage which will appear on other webpages without editing the other webpages source code, unless you have access to every website in the world; This is impossible.

What you could do is code a FireFox (Easier then IE addons I think? And Firefox is more popular) addon, which then the user can still and you can do this.

You could have two frames side-by-side.

One yours, one to navigate in, and so your page stays one with it?
