Default Fujitsu Amilo Laptop HDD Replacing

    Hey,

I have an Amilo laptop and the HDD needs replacing but it's as dead as ever. One problem though - I need to know how to get to the HDD. I take the back panel off and all I see is the CPU and the RAM and no sign of the HDD or where it could be.

If anyone has any advice then I'd be much greatful - thanks!

Underneath the laptop, is there no little compartment that has "HDD" on it?

I'd rather not take it to PC World.

I did take it apart and replace it, they're pretty easy I reckon - just compact and fiddly. This laptop's near enough had it's day anyway and I've only had it a year .

    Thanks for the advice anyway.

Near the sides of the Laptop underneath (havn't actually seen your laptop model but might be similar to a few others that don't have it obvious) Are there a number of screws holding what looks like the cd drive in place (but shock horror no cd drive) or too many screws..

sometimes the harddrive is parked neatly in the side of your laptop or older models actually have it on the same pull out tray as a cdrom! .. shocking isn't it...

Why would someone take it to PC WORLD?!
