Default Will this imac last me?

Hey basicially im buying a imac, and im in year 10. Im getting hopefully if everything goes to plan, a 20" one, 500gb hardrive, 4gb ram, 2.66 ghz. Getting wireless keyboard and mouse with it too. I know macs last a long time, but I need this for uni aswell as im paying like 1 and a bit grand for it, (im getting iworks, and final cut pro). So will it last me till Im about 18 so about 3 and a bit years? longer if possible . Atm Im so unpatient waiting to get one im getting it in like 2 or 3 weeks and I cant bare being on vista or a pc any longer!

Yeah the iMac should last you for that long, people still use them old emacs to this day.

You're only in year 10, you've got another 3 years at least until you can go to uni.
I would wait until you go to college/6th form to buy one.

Im runnin an '05 imac. And I should imagine i will be for at least another 18-24 months unless support for PPC drops to nothing...

An Intel mac probably will last for a while longer

As said, if you've got to make it last that long then I would wait until 6th form, It will be a long wait, but at least your machine will last you right through Uni with decent specs

I believe the average life span (in terms of specifications relative to others) of a computer is four years, so you should easily get that from your Mac. I love my MacBook to bits!
