PS3 Dead :(

Today I was happily playing FIFA 09 and I was watching a replay. I went back to the game and noticed the music and the commentry stopped. I paused to check the audio settings and the game froze. I quit the game and the PS3 beeped 3 times. Usually at this poitn it would automatically restart but it stayed on a black screen. When i turned it back on the disc wasn't showing in the game menu. It came back after re inserting the game but the game just froze at loading up. I tried a few other games and the same happened. I finally got Rock Band to load up and played a song on there. I thought it was fixed. I quit my drum career going back to the main menu and it froze. Since then every game i tried has frozen on start up. I called Sony and they said they had to replace it and a courier will come and swap PS3s on Friday. So at the moment i'm backing up my stuff onto a external hard drive. The worst bit is.. Rock Band save data is lcoked to the PS3 it was created on so i'll have to start again on Rock Band. I just completed hard on drums the other day :@

Anyway at least they're replacing it and i'll still be able to play on my brothers PS3.

The earliest they could get a new one to me was Thursday but there would be no one in to answer the door so had to do Friday when my Mum will be home. I'll just be playing my downloaded games till Friday maybe FIFA 09 on my brothers PS3.

When it happened to you what exactly happened? My PS3 is working as it should now. I've been playing Rock Band fine.

At least Sony come and actually swap the PS3s over whereas you have to wait about 4 weeks for MicroSoft to repair a 360..

I believe that PS3's and X-Box 360's break easily.
This is why i have not Purchased them

I was playing a game it crashed and then none of the games where recognized after that. Rang them up on friday and they replaced it on monday so it was really fast.

They only repair it if its their fault and still under warranty.
But yeh its alot faster than 360
