    Default Worried about a friend

My friend is usually like.. a nutter... She's really funny, always smiling etc.

But, this lunch she started yabbering on about how she has changed for the worse. I didn't really take notice of it that much.

On the way home she started again, saying that I'm the only person that likes her and that it's pointless doing anything for anyone anymore. Apparently her parents are threatening to kick her out because she had a fight with her little brother, pushed him down the stairs and he broke his leg.

I'm just really worried. She's seems to be really really down. She hasn't cried infront of me but I get the feeling that she does when she's on her own. As in; she tries to hide her emotions.

I feel that being her 'only friend' I should do something, but I have no idea what to do. Can anyone suggest for me to do anything? I tried ringing her and hinting about it.. like to talk about it but she just digressed onto something else. Everytime I mentioned it she was like; "Oh, that spanish homework..." and so on.

    :S

Dont give hints. Talk direct. Find the real problem, besides the fact that her parents are making her sad.

I knowww but I don't know how to talk direct about it.. I'm not really that much of a confident person myself tbh - I would feel seriously awkward. What should I say?

Sit her down, look her in the face and just ask whats wrong. Dont let her change the subject, keep asking!

Get her on her own, talk to her direct, tell her that she hasnt changed, it might just be a thing that people go through in there life, tell her she needs to get back to where she was and get back to her friends who are missing her loads.

I know this probs isn't appropriate, but people seriously talk more openly when they've had abit to drink. Even if it's just you being confident enough to talk to her.
My friend was the exact same way towards me cause I basically just wasn't going to school or caring about life and he didn't say anything, then at this party we both got pretty drunk and he basically just asked what I was doing and to sort myself out and I'm now trying to.
