Unreal Portal (Problems)

im using unreal portal on my ipb forum and i want to add a custom block to it when i have added all of the information about the custom block it still doesnt work anybody know whats wrong... ? :s

also how do i configure the news so it will show the posters avatar ive tried using

{$data['avatar']}

but it just comes up with the url of there avatar
and ive tried using

{$ibforums->lang['avatar']}

and

{$author['avatar']}

but nothing appears, anybody know how to do it cos im confused :s
