    Just wondered, does anybody actually buy poppies? I bought one on Wednesday for 11/11. Answer below/vote in poll.

    I used to but now I just give the money without taking a poppy. I don't want wear something that says I just gave to chairty, look at me.

    used to @ school, wont bother now i've left though, unless everyone @ work starts wearing one.

    Its actually because they were the wild flowers that were the first plants to grow in the churned-up soil of soldiers' graves in Belgium and northern France. Little else could grow in the blasted soil that became rich in lime from the rubble.
