    Default System restore? +rep

Is it possible to do a system restore on a mac?

I've completely messed up a load of files and now I can't find half my music, and I don't even know if it's in the trash or what...

System restore on windows as far as I'm aware just restores the windows registry to a previous state. OSX doesn't have a registry.

The closest thing I guess in a way of magically sorts out odd problems would be the disk utilities repair permissions. Which you'll find in applications.
