    Default Reg Varney dies

On the Buses great Reg Varney, well loved for playing cheeky cockney Stan Butler in the classic 70s sitcom, has died at the age of 92. The comedy actor died peacefully on Sunday afternoon following a short illness in a nursing home in Devon.

His daughter Jeanne Marley said he had been admitted to the home after suffering a chest infection. She said: “He’s always been very young for his age. When he was in On The Buses he was playing a 35-year-old, but he was actually 50”.
