    Default Radio Licenses

    Hey.

About mid-way through the development of my website, I realised that I may need to invest in a radio licence for my website (it isn't a Habbo fansite). However, the radio isn't the main part of the site so at the time, I felt that it wouldn't be needed. But now i've been looking at the MCPS-PRS site and found this licence here --> http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/p...ages/LOEL.aspx

I also discovered that I would also need to purchase a second licence from PPL, here --> http://www.ppluk.com/en/Music-Users/...aster-licence/

Does anyone know if these are required for a website like mine and if I should purchase these licences or whether I am just talking a load of rubbish and should just continue broadcasting without them?

The website is www.urt33n.com - thanks for any help you can provide.

    Wrong,
You can broadcast own content but you are not aloud then to broadcast any songs ect. Now im gonna say it how it is you dont really need one, Its great if you do get one but they have bigger fish to catch and wont even bother looking at you with the amount of listers you will get. The time they start to look into it is when you start getting 1000 listners and over regulary.

If you get a license you need to then pay royalties which complicates the matter. Getting a license just puts you on the radar to make sure your paying royalties for other peoples songs/work.
