12 year old child dies after using Lynx

Daniel Hurley, from Sandiacre, Derbyshire, was found collapsed in his bathroom by his father Robert Hurley after using Lynx Vice deodorant.

Derby Coroner's Court heard that use of the spray in a confined space led to Daniel suffering a cardiac arrhythmia.


Mr Hurley tried to revive his son but he died at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham on January 12, five days after he was found.

RIP. It happened in January and I remember an assembly on him as he was in my school 2 years below me. At the time they just said he was a 'Healthy and normal boy' and they didn't mention how he died, he moved to the school not too long before, and he was allegedly rather quiet.

People just use it to smell nice nowadays.

Id rather use a fragrance and spray it around my neck and collar to smell nice

I agree, you don't expect that to happen. You just think the warnings on the cans are just to get rid of Trading Standards etc..

That's quite bad, you wouldn't think a can of deodorant would have that much of an effect on a 12 year. Imagine how dangerous is must be around younger children :S

Well Im hoping children younger then 10 years old don't use it (but they probably do) as it can most likely cause problems Does really make you think about it to be honest.
