    Default Limiting internet usage?

Basically, I want to cut it so my sister can't use it as much as she does.

Is there any possible way of limiting the usage from one computer without turning off the router or limiting the whole internet?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question guys.

You could operate a specially configured proxy server, although this would require the computer that was hosting the proxy server to be on all the time internet access was required. Alternatively you could install some specialist software on your sister's computer to limit the internet usage.

Most routers have options where you can only allow them access to the internet at certain times of the day

Some routers also give you the option of prioritizing traffic (Which I need to get round to), you could just prioritize everyone you wanted to but her and you should get faster speeds when you're on, but if you're off she'll get standard speeds. However I wouldn't be too sure she's using up too much internet usage, the likes of browsing and MSN will make little difference, unless she's using the likes of Limewire that is...

It's not so much that mate, it's just the amount of time she uses it and we are trying to stop her. Haha

Additionally you could use good old Net Nanny. Parenting your sister are you?

If it was an XP computer, you could use a microsoft free program for it, Im not sure what its called though...

It can restrict you from like everything

Or if you have vista make her account on parental controls so she can only logon at a set time to a set time each day
