    Default Laptop HardDrives

    Well, i have this laptop now, and i was wondering, if i bought a new laptop, full size, not a netbook would i be able to just take the hard drive out and replace it with this one?

    This laptops screens partly broke and i have no warranty

    It's possible with most laptops, though there could be differences with IDE & SATA if you use have an old laptop which uses IDE as a new laptop would almost certainly use SATA, that would be a dead-end. Some laptops don't even let you remove the HDD but most do, and if you're using Vista it's a bad idea as you'll have to reactivate the OS when you change motherboards.

    Well, i dont really know what mine is, is there any way to tell?. Im using XP because i cant stand vista
    i have a Toshiba satellite a100-237

    EDIT - The harddrive is a SATA

    Yes you could. I wouldn't recommend trying to use it without formatting and re-installing an OS first though.
