Belkin N1 Wireless Router & Scientific Atlanta (Virgin/Telewest) Cable Modem problems

I recently bought a Nintendo DS for online gaming, and so when I couldn't get it online (Error code 52100, Nintendo's site not helping) I tried everything. Last week, I typed my own IP into IE and got my router page, then seen "Turn into Access Point" or something meaning change, and then it asked me to type a ???.???.???.??? style number into the IP box on that page. So I did and then it came up loading in top right hand corner. I waited and nothing so I F5'd it, then I lost my connection.

Then for a week I could only get internet (Wired) on my Xbox and neither Wireless nor Wired on anything else. But a few days ago, I read the customer support (MS, the one preloaded on the computers) and it said something about changing your IP settings, so I followed those steps and found my computer only wanted to use the DNS ___.___.___.___ the underscores being blanks. So I made it revert to what it should be with a reset button or whatever it was and now I get my Wired connection back on my Laptop.

But still when I hooked everything back up, no internet or network light on my wireless router.

Sorry for blabbing, but I really need it and after also recently buying an iPod Touch, really would like my Wi-Fi back.

Press the reset button on the bottom of the router and set it up again as though it was brand new.

Allow UPNP in your router settings

If your connection is secured, make sure it's doesn't use WPA as the Nintendo DS doesn't support it, sadly you'll have to use WEP but it's better than nothing.

Yeah me too, it's just I know I should really be using WPA, it'd be a lot of effort to go through changing everything on our network and I'm pretty sure my phone doesn't support WPA.

Our neighbours aren't particularly computer savvy and have their own networks anyway, most important web pages such as emailing is encrypted anyway, it's only the NAS which is at risk.
