    Default Boosting the volume

    Hey,

If you are like me and find the internal speakers of the macbook etc. a bit quiet, perhaps you would be interested in a piece of software called "Audio Hijack Pro"

Now, yes it is a piece of commercial software but I am sure most of you will find a way around that.

It boosts the signal and outputs much louder, I use it for DVD's and YouTube where the audio is quiet.

I do agree with what you said before the edit, if you pump it way too much you can damage the speakers.

So do beware of that, but I change the gain to around 283% (from the standard input of 100%) and it does make a good improvement without much distortion.

If you need a bit more gain, if you click in the affects area you can add a 4FX Plugin "Gain" (I don't suggest Double Gain) and can add a bit more if you need it
