    I don't really like ipods and I'd like a new MP3, I've been looking at the ZEN X-FI MP3 player but i'm not 100%

Microsoft Zune 120 is my favourite. I know you can't get it in the UK but I got one off eBay brand new and I love it !

I really would recommend an ipod, but if you really don't want one i'd reccomend a zune.

I've just never got on with iPods, so you reckon a zune is good then?

Zune's are difficult in the UK, not only can you not get them easily, if you import them you have to pay a fair bit of tax. They're meant to be coming to the UK this year but nothing confirmed yet.

Go on the Zune website and they don't even let you download the Zune software with a British IP so they clearly don't like people importing them

They're nice MP3 Players and easily second to the iPod (No other MP3 Players go over 30GB, Zune's go to 120GB) but I'm personally waiting for them to come to the UK with their third generation but if you do go for one (a few sites do sell them, even Amazon sells a few 30GBs) let me know how you get on.

    I would say Zune first.
But if you can't get those, iRivers are alright.

MP4 and MP3 is completely different, the Nano, Classic and Touch are all capable of MP4 (Video) and all the iPods (Including the Shuffle) are capable of MP3 (Compressed music).

When people say MP3 Player they want something to play tunes and or just a generic multimedia player, and when people say MP4 Player they want to play video's as well as tunes.

Got it and it's excellent. Long battery life and extremely good sound quality which blows all other MP3 players out the water. iPods don't count as they seem to be taking the style accessory route as of late.
