    Default Core Temp

Hey, well I got a new PC and it's good. I was wondering about the core temperatures, if they were the right temperature for what they are. So I downloaded Core Temp and checked. Here's what I got (and it has the processor info).

That's just when a few things are open such as AVG, MSN, Google Chrome... they stay at them temperatures, hasn't gone over 50 yet or under 30.

Is the T.J. Max the max temp they can get to? I doubt it but I dunno.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Hmm it says Quad Q9200 on there but it's saying Quad Q8200 on the Vista Welcome Center.

Thanks Robbie, speed fan is showing all green ticks so it's all good. OK, as soon as I said that I checked it and some are red arrows going upwards then turning into ticks again...

You should find out the actual Tj Max for that processor on the internet, then modify it in CoreTemp's settings, it could make your temps higher or lower.

Hmm I've looked around a bit and according to somebody on a forum CoreTemp is correct displaying 100C... I've no idea what it means.

Yeah, the 45nm quads still have the 100c TJmax. 65nm quads (like the Q6600) have a 90 TJ Max.

So the max. it can reach without "dying" is 100c?

I put it under load with Photoshop, MSN, dreamweaver, a Youtube video and many tabs open and it reached 52c.

I read that the max. operating temperature is 71.4°C... so is it that or 100c?

Whatever it is it seems that the temperature is okay.

EDIT: I just tried putting it under load, I opened all of these:

Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, MSN, AVG performing a full scan, Photoshop, Microsoft word, Dreamweaver and Windows Media Player the cores were

    #1 - 58
    #2 - 54
    #3 - 53
    #4 - 55

They kept fluctuating between 54 - 60 (only the first core got to 60)

If it reached 100c then say good bye to your computer and house.

    It won't reach that though.

My AMD laptop reached 80 something once and the heat coming out of it was intense!

    So 71c is the max.
