    Default Your iPods drive

    I have had 3 iPods and each time it has had less storage space than I payed for. I had a 4gb nano and it had 3.5gb, I had an 8gb nano and it had 7.3gb and now I have a 16gb touch and it only has 14.5gb. Is this the same for everyone else?

    In iTunes it says 14.5gb and it shows the firmware taking up 150mb. There's no way that the firmware takes up 1.5gb.

    The disclaimer at Apple says

    1GB=1 billion bytes
    Actual Formatted Capacity smaller.

    Indeed it's just how things are formatted and firmware. For example nothing is actually 1GB, in reality it is 1024MB.

    I noticed this, it's quite annoying when you need more room for songs :{
