    Default PHP script protection ideas?

    Hello,

    I am making a script soon for someone who has no idea about programming so I just want some simple methods for stopping him from removing the copyright notice without him having to install PHP modules and the like.

    So far, I have thought of having a script that reads though index.php and checks for my name in it, which will be easy. Any other good and easy ideas of ways to do this?

    Encypt it all the PHP files. Sorry I can't spell it right, you know what I mean though yeah?

    You can use obfuscation which doesn't really protect it but makes it hard to read which could be beneficial.

    If you're making it for him, why would you even bother putting copyright on it. I understand you're the one who coded it and all... Unless there is something I'm missing?

    Use file_get_contents() to check for the copyright. Of course, you'd need your own host and if your host goes down, so does the script you made him.

    If he doesn't know anything about programming at all then just base64 encode it. Then:
    PHP Code:
    echo base64_decode($variablewithnamewhichdoesntsuggestcopyright);

    You can get it encoded and add a license to it. If you only want it decoded then I may be able to do it cheaply/for free in ioncube - I have some ioncube credits and it saves you having to buy the minimum amount.

    If you want a license system for it also, I can easily create one for you.

    PM me.
    Kind Regards,

    Guy

    Lol, why would he pay someone else to make him a license system when he's the one developing the script for the customer? Surely he'd be able to code the licensing system himself? .

    Tim is a PHP coder.. he is asking for ideas and techniques to make this possible.

    Why would he need you to code it for him, when he is the one developing the product? :rolleyes:
