Slow Internet

since aboput 7pm last night my internet has been loading pages EXTREMELY slowly, like i literally have to retry 10-20 times before they'll (half) load. i've tried using different browsers but it's the same thing every time. it wont let me sign onto msn 90% of the time i try to.
& although it does let me connect to xbox live, it wont let me search nor join any online games and then i get disconnected after about 5 minutes of playing offline. so yeah i'm guessing it's obviously something to do with my internet connection.. but what can i do about it? i'd rather not call my isp cause talking to talk talk on the phone is an absolute ******* nightmare.

Go to speedtest.net and check your speed

Restart your router (pull plug out for 30 seconds or so)
Restart your modem (pull plug out for 30 seconds or so)
Make sure the cable leading from your modem to router isn't damaged

If you go to network connections then properties of your current one what is the speed?
