Lisa Marjurum, 20, was arrested after knocking on doors asking people to donate to a bogus charity for the tragic Haringey tot, who suffered months of abuse before his death in August 2007.
Homeless Marjurum admitted the shameless scam carried out in Dagenham, east London, when she appeared at Barking Magistrates’ Court last week.
She pleaded guilty to collecting charitable contributions under false pretences and told officers she had conned people out of £10 because she had no money.
District Judge John Woollard fined her £100 and ordered her to pay £50 compensation.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said after the hearing: “This was a despicable crime preying on the good nature and generosity of our residents and depriving UK charities of the donations they so desperately need.
“Anyone who feels a charity collection is suspicious should close the door and call the police.”
