    Default XP Product Key (Legaaaaaal)

Well, when I say legal I'm not too sure.

Some time last year I reformatted my PC & my dad let me use his new copy of XP for an operating system.

"Don't register it, I might need that in the future."

Well I didn't know I had 30 days to register it before it wouldn't let me log on - I just figured it'd just stop me from receiving updates etc., having a Mac and all that idea didn't matter much.

Now I want to use that PC for other things and it wants me to register using a code from telephone support. Is there a way around this so that I can use my machine without having to buy a new version of windows for a product key to register?

I can't call the support for a confirmation code since I can't access the PC for the original key & dad won't let me use it if I call him and ask for it.

Idc about registering his copy, I can replace that when/if he finds out I just want to be able to use the PC.

    I did this before.
I had to call them, I think I had to give them something from what it said on the screen. Or they gave me something to type in, didn't have to pay for anything.
Always lurking around, never really post.

download something called ANTIWPA and run it, when your on the lock out screen press ctrl + u, this will bring up a little box in the bottom right if I remember correctly, right click the top left of it and go to the about, and then in the about box it should give you an option to view the online details, once this has loaded it will load up Internet Explorer, Locate your C Drive by typing C:\, if you however download to a usb pen and plug it in locate to D:\ or whatever drive it's assigned to, running through the letters you will eventually find it, double click the file, and run it, it will reopen your windows XP for you.

Right I see that now, gives you an ID to give them. Hopefully that'll be all I need. I'll try it tomorrow, thank you.

Even better, I'll borrow a pen from someone and try that.

IF your key is registered over a certain amount of times they will turn you down by the way, happened to me once.

That happened to me, but I just activated over the phone after that and it worked.

You can use an XP code loads before they smell something fishy.
    That went fast.
