Clothes help!

I am going to work in a primary school for my work experience, and I've been asked to dress 'smart casual'. Now I'm not too sure what it means, so if anyone would like to show me some examples of clothes I could buy, I would be very grateful.

What I would wear is a vest (black or grey, pinstripes are nice ) with a white button down shirt, jeans and some boots or ballet flats. In case you need an example, here's one

I would say jeans and smart shirt as everyone else says. I have a white shirt i wear which isnt a school type shirt, its got a type of raised squre pattern on it?? if that makes sense. I wear a white tee under it and when i went to an interview for morrisons, i saw they wrote down smart casual.
