I've rebooted my pc twice because dodgy copy of vista which the fool put on my pc messed up so its been booted twice.

I had a text document file with allot of things in it

Anyway I could recover it?

Yep, also "boot" is when you start up the computer, when you say boot i'm sure you mean reformat?

search google for "recover software" or something.

You could also try a system restore point. From the day the data was lost until now. How you get to the system restore tool is:

Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Then Click System Restore.

This will pop-up:


Choose Which one you want. I would go with Restore my computer to an earlier time.

Then this will come up:



Find the Month and day that the event occured and hit restore.
