When I plug my Ipod touch into the USB slot using the cable, it doesn't show up in itunes and it doesn't charge, it says: USB Device Not Recognised, and something about a malfunction, could any of you help or give me tips on what I should do please? thanks.

To put into recovery mode, hold down the home and sleep button for 20-25 seconds (the shut down screen will appear but keep holding down the two buttons) When the apple appears, let go of the sleep button. It will then ask you to connect your ipod to itunes. Plug your ipod in and your set.
iTunes will then recognise it and ask you to restore it

I used to get this all the time, sometimes my ipod worked and sometimes that came up.
