Australian bushfires

My sumarry: This bushfire is meant to be as bad as the Ash Wednesday fires in 1983. We have already lost almost 85 people.. and that is since about 1pm yesterday! It is insane.

I personally live very close to a few of these fires and can smell the smoke. The closest was about 1km away!

Tragic, they're all throughout New South Wales aswell. Kind of ironic that North Queensland is underwater though lol...

108 confirmed dead now and 750+ houses destroyed.

Over 130 dead and estimates of over 700 houses houses leaving over a thousand people homeless and many with nothing except the clothes they had on.

It's quite a tragic story really especially when you consider the fact that the fires were probably deliberately lit.

Curious, where are you from?

I know that a few were on purpose. and others were from the sheer heat.. We had melbournes hottest day onrecord, 47/48 degrees.. that didnt help and all the wind!

It was 49.7C in Bendigo or somewhere near, I can't remember what the town was tho.

My mates are making jokes about this... God, you should hear them you'd be shocked. Shame about the loss of life and everything, hope it stops before Australia becomes toast.
