funding help

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about potential government grants available as a college student over 19. (I don't want anyone posting that it's not fair etc cos you can't get it... I genuinely need it).

One of my friends in college recently told me he'd applied for one involving around £500 to help with education fees.

I was talking to someone on Connexions live chat but he couldn't help except telling me about ALG.

I've looked all over direct.gov etc and can't really find anything.

What I'm looking for is if anyone knows the specifics of any, for example the names.

I am not sure; I know something on those lines exist as one of my family members applied for it. I will try looking later if I can ask them if they will tell me. I think if you cant find anything the best would be to apply for ALG
