Default 14 year old ready to exercise?

Well my, my cousin has pretty much just turned 14 (18th january) and wants to start bulking up. I've told him that he's too young to be doing weights and needs to wait till he's at least 16. Am I right in telling him this? Thanks.

Tell him take it easy, he doesn't wanna weight lift everyday and all that, otherwise he'll stay the same height he is, wait till he's 18 and stops growing before he buls up, till then work on a 6 pac or something.
That's why we seize the moment, try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and hold it cause we consider these minutes golden.

Im still 14 until March and I go to a gym 4/5 days a week I don't overdo it so it's fine. He will have trouble finding a gym that lets him in though. There's only one gym near me that lets a 14/15yr old in and they must have an adult with them for health and safety.
The other day I was in a toilet.
A voice came from the cubicle next to me: "Hello mate, how are you doing?"
I didn't want to be rude, so I said, "Not too bad, thanks."
I heard the voice again. "So, what are you up to?"
Again I answered, "Just having a quick ****... How about yourself?"
Then I heard him say "Sorry, mate, I'll have to call you back. I've got some **** in the cubicle next to me answering everything I say."

Isn't it bad for your body (bones/back or something) if you do too much weights at a young age?

If you dont know what your doing then yes, otherwise no.

Its definately not too young to start working out, just tell him to get some books so he can know what hes doing.
And Josh, where did you hear that youll stay the same height if you work out before 18? lmao.
    1. Jeremy 1129 up, 295 downA named based on the biblical name Jeremiah. Used as a name for children who are blessed with a large brain and/or penis. Also used as a replacement for "perfect".
We had a child and it had a very large penis so we named it Jeremy.

If you work out before you are at your maximum height it will stump your growth as lifting weights tears muscle fibres and your body needs to repair them, so whilst its repairing them it doesnt put as much in to your growth as a whole

    ^ Makes no sense.
Bones grow from cartlidge and calcium in your body but I'm not going to get into ossification

I started at 14 but I was cautious of damaging my body so I didn't do any squats or back excersises. 14 Is a good age to start, if your really cautious about your 'cousins'
safety then just lift light weights with high repetitions. If you do things properly like myself then you wont need to worry about damaging your growth plates.

    At 14 I was 5"8 at 15 8 months I'm 5"11
