Usersystem Tutorials?

Can someone recommend a usersystem tutorial to me? Every single usersystem tut I've read is either to complex for me to understand (ie: the evolt usersystem tut), messy and crap (ie: Naresh's usersystem on techtuts), or doesn't even work (basically every other tut I've read).

They brought back the php forum with nareshs system, look for the securing tuts and its all good and secure
