    Hey,

    Could anyone give me a guide to setting up a VPN server on my ubuntu box. This is so that me and a friend can connect to the box to acsess video files.

    Surley you could use FTP or an explora on it like Windows 7 has home group surly there and application like that :S or mac might have somthing built in I dont think your need a VPN

    There's a guide using openvpn, it should work.

    It depends on the nature of what you're trying to do and what you want to grant access too. Is it to access something like iPlayer where you will have to use the IP to act as your gateway and give your computer the IP of the server's primary DNS/DHCP resolution
