Packard Bell motherboard problem

Hi, well my new Packard Bell PC died. One day it just wouldn't turn on, basically. Tried changing all of the plugs, etc, no use... a component had died. So I took it to PC City (Spains PC World) and they diagnosed it as a motherboard failure and possibly the PSU had died... but the PSU wont work without the mobo anyway...

Basically, PB are sending a cheque so we can get a new PC, however I want to fix the PB I had. They couldn't fix it in Spain because the mobo was specific and could only be obtained by Packard Bell. I think it was a 'Denver 11' motherboard, the PC was an iMedia x2426 (I think). Would any other motherboard work it in?

Also, one last question. It had 4GB of RAM, however it came with 32bit Vista. The processor was 64bit, so I installed Vista 64bit. This allowed me to use my 4GB of RAM. Is there anyway that this could have contributed to the "death" of my PC?

Just get a 775 motherboard that takes the RAM you have (probably DDR2). Should be fine. What CPU is it?

It would probably be best to format the hard drive and start a fresh as well.

Packard Bell is a horrid company, and I feel bad for going with them.
Within 2 months, my PC started to freeze then I had to do a full recovery. :|

Anyway, I don't think that that 64bit would of crashed your PC seeing as the processor is 64bit.
I'm sure you can install your own motherboard. If you can't and live in the UK visit TheTechGuys, they might be in Spain but I'm not too sure.
If I were you, I wouldn't use Packard Bell again.

So any 775 motherboard that takes DDR2 RAM should work? (Yeah the RAM is DDR2 btw). CPU is Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q8200.
